Austin Collins signs scholarship to play basketball at TMC

By Norman Cooper NGN Sports Editor

Austin Collins signed a scholarship to play basketball at Truett-McConnell College.
The package will result in a full scholarship for the Union County High senior who established himself as a great defensive player who could average in the double digits offensively.
Coach Cory Baldwin has concluded his second season at Truett-McConnel College, and after having five sophomores sign Division I scholarships, needs some quality basketball talent to replenish his squad.

"Austin is one of those players who can play the style we play," Coach Baldwin said. "We press the entire game and we are real up tempo. We like having long athletic wings. There is where Austin fits in. He can play the two, the three or the four. He is very athletic and he can shoot it."

"I liked the coach when I met him," Collins said. "I think it is a good school. I had a few workouts and believe they can lead me in the right direction.
